If You Need A Pick-Me-Up

And like most things in this house, they end in tears. :)

Puddles

One day we were getting ready to go out and play in the puddles. Our new home has ample puddles, especially in our driveway. I personally love them, I'm sure anyone that visits us who appreciates a clean car does not. Anyways, I got the boys ready and sent them out because they were anxious to start playing, I was getting my boots and coat on and grabbing my camera when Toby ran up to the door and said "Mama, come help! Jack fell down in a puddle!" So I grabbed my camera and ran. It was a split second decision that I will forever be reminded of my by loving husband, but I knew if I didn't take the extra two seconds to snap this picture I would kick myself in my bum. So I did, and it was SO worth it. Sorry grandparents, it just had to be done.

Don't worry though, as soon as I snatched him up we went inside and got him nice and toasty and let him watch a "Busytown Mysteries".

What Makes A Mama's Heart Glad...

Oftentimes when the boys are grouchy and are having bad attitudes one of the sure fire ways to get them to cheer up is to blast some worship music or a special kids mix. This video is after there were some super bad attitudes going on and we were listening to one of my worship stations on Pandora. It just proves what little sponges these boys are, after listening to "Our God" by Chris Tomlin one time the above video is what came after it. He videoed himself singing while I was getting their lunch ready. What a treat to find this sweet, goofy video on my phone. Below is the actual song, you can see that Toby added his own special twist to it.

The Boys

Since moving I have noticed that I haven't been picking up my camera nearly as often as I used to, so I've been purposing to take more pictures of these sweet boys and this fun season in life. They are SO much fun now. Jack wants to be Toby, he will do anything Toby does, whether that be eating strange vegetables that Toby eats or disobeying the rules, he wants to be just like him. When asked how old he is this is what he'll say "I'm four and Toby four." The other day after one of us corrected him that he is actually two he got the saddest little pout and starting crying "'I'm foooour, no two." I adore being a mommy to two little boys, the adventures never stop.

Last week we visited the boy's awesome dentist and I asked him why Jack still drools so much. It sounds like it all boils down to his thumb sucking. Since he sucks his thumb so much his teeth have moved out a little (they look like Mater teeth) so there is more room in there to let the drool fall out. Kids also produce more saliva than adults and generally swallow a lot less than adults. And every time he puts his thumb in his mouth, or any other foreign object, his mouth produces more saliva, so its a continual process for him. Thumb in, make more spit, out it goes. He said that once he does stop sucking then his teeth will most likely move back into place and the drooling will get better.
