Preschool Happenings

Since the blog was open to the public I haven't felt comfortable disclosing any info about where Toby goes to preschool in fear of who would see that (we all know there are a lot of creepos out there on the internet). Thankfully now I can since this is private :) So this is me playing catch-up with his preschool activities.

Toby and his beloved Teacher Tina.
Making the hardest decision of his little life, what to bring for snack. We were in the juice isle for it seemed like forever. At his preschool each child gets a turn to be 'snack helper', they get to bring the snack and then be the one to pass it out to all of their friends. This was a much anticipated day for Tobes. As you can see below he did end up choosing some juices, a box of Cars Cheese It's, and some apples. He was very proud of his selection and couldn't wait to get to preschool to share.

Here we are riding on the school bus for the first time going on his first field trip to Lee's farm (Hanna's old work where she used to pump out the pies). Jack was pretty freaked out about being on the bus and clung to me like a little monkey. You know how buses can get pretty bumpy and wiggly? Well, all Jack would say on the bus was "It tickles, it tickles Mama."
A very proud/elated boy standing by the bus.

Here's Toby at his 'Thanksgiving Feast'. They invited all the parents and had the kiddos walk out of their classrooms in a line and had them sing a few songs. Toby would NOT sing, he just stood there acting shy and like he was too cool to be singing with the rest of his classmates. We were proud of the little guy just for wearing that turkey hat the whole time, which he would NEVER do if Jamie or I would've asked him. And then he got to sit down at the table with his buddies and eat their feast.

iPhone Photo Dump

Since life is insanely busy right now I figured it would be easiest for me to take pictures of the remodel on my phone, not my lovely huge camera that I would be heartbroken if something happened to it. Soooo here are some pictures of the progress as of yet. Hopefully soon I'll be setting this blog as private, so if you are wanting to be put on the list of people who can view it make sure to let me know (via facebook, email, commenting on here, etc...)

Within a couple hours time, me and my dad were at Home Depot getting supplies for my crazy idea of painted plywood floors, then cutting them into the right board size at Jamie's work (since his SawStop is buried in boxes at the duplex), and then on over to the new house to lay them down. My dad is a rockstar.

If any of you doubted my country roots this just proves it, a burn barrel. Who needs a garbage service when you have one of these?! (haha, ok just kidding with that, I haven't used it, yet)

Tommy close your eyes. Everybody else, you are looking at Tommy's Christmas present. It's a HUGE sign that says 'Thomas Hobbies' Ohhhh yeah, he's gonna loooooove it.

And who needs a pile of leaves to have fun? These boys are just fine with a pile of monstrous, pokey pine needles. :)

Jack's 2nd Birthday

As luck would have it Jacks birthday landed the week after Hanna and Joeys wedding. Since everyone would still be in town we decided to just have the party the next day right after church. Man, oh man, I cannot believe we pulled it off. My baby sisters wedding, and my baby boy's birthday party in just two days. We're nuts. But with the help from lots of people it worked out and the most important thing, Jack felt sooo loved and special. He didn't notice or care that his cupcakes were leftover from the wedding (we just decorated the tops of them) or that the leftover pizza tasted a little stale. He seriously loved having all of his friends and family in one (tiny little) spot for a couple hours just for him. So thank you everyone for your help, and most importantly for loving on our sweet little guy.

About Jack as a two year old:

Nicknames (mostly given by his Daddy): Jack Jack, Jaquilious, J-Wall, J-Wallidoddler, Buddy Jack, Punky. Of course the last one is mine.

Favorite foods: Pizza, milk, cheese, crackers, anything with a Cars movie label on it (why can't veggies come stamped with a Cars symbol?!), mac n' cheese, bacon, any fruit, and any sort of candy.

Favorite things to do: Wrestling, getting tickled, getting chased, hopping and jumping at random times all day long, playing puzzles and games on 'my diepod' (aka my ipod), anything that involves Toby, snuggling on the couch sucking his thumb and watching, what else, but Cars movie.

Latest accomplishments: Talking MUCH more, and #2 on the potty.

We just adore our little guy and are so thankful that God choose us to be his mommy and daddy, he blesses us daily with his sweet cuddles, silly antics, and joyful little attitude. We love you buddy Jack!

Private?

So I've been going back and forth in my head for a while now about whether I should make this blog private. Which would mean you would need to 'sign in' in order to see/read anything on it if you are a invited reader. The main reason I want to do this is our privacy. I would love to post pictures of sweet little baby bottoms, the boys playing in the bathtub, or running around the yard in their birthday suits, but there are nasty perverted creepers out there. I would also love to post stuff about Toby's preschool, but I don't want just anyone knowing which one it is. And our new house, I don't want anyone with internet access being able to know right where we live and what's in our home. You know? But the other side is that I don't want to inconvenience anyone, meaning you. Would you give me some feedback please? Would you still read the blog if it was private? Let me know!

First Day of Preschool

This didn't just happen did it? Preschool already? But this boy was READY. He's been counting the days. And the day finally came today. My sweet firstborn is growing up, and I don't think I'm ok with that.

I feel slightly bipolar about the whole situation. We've been having more behavioral issues with Toby, which we now think is due to all the changes going on around him (starting preschool, possibly moving, Hanna getting married and moving soon, me working more, etc...). I knew it would be hard, but I didn't know it would be so heart wrenching to walk out of a classroom while he's clinging to my leg and begging "Please don't go Mama". And I wouldn't have gone, I could have stayed all day. But alas the teacher noticed that I was the one parent still clinging to my son's need of me and she kindly told me to go. She was nice about it, and I know it was good for him. But man, it was HARD. Parenting is just plain hard. Two weeks ago I would have thought I would be skipping out of his class and screaming "FREEEDOM!!!!" but I know better now. No matter how naughty, needy, and difficult that child can be sometimes, I will never be screaming freedom when it's time to leave him. Never. And of course he was totally fine the second I walked away, which I am SO thankful for. He did amazing, which I knew he would.
He can't wait to go back.

He said he needed a good picture of him and Tuba smiling together at preschool :)

When I picked him up he was covered in strawberry stains and was grinning ear to ear. He told me he got to play on the slide (which he was really wanting to do), do circle time, have a great snack, play with some new friends, and that he liked his teacher. He did a wonderful job and we're so proud of our little guy!

Magness Tree Farm

It is now a tradition, we went first in 2009 trying to get Jack out of my womb, then again in 2010 for fun. Ok, so I have really had this blog that long? Where has the time gone?! This is nuts. And I am still as horrible about posting as I was back then. Ah man. Forgive me?

Hamburger

Chooo Choo

The poor baby didn't want anyone telling him to not lay down on the train tracks.

Our little bruiser. He constantly has bumps and scabs on him, a sure sign that he is almost 2.

Lightning McQueen, or Wightming as Toby pronounces it, is everywhere in our house these days. Toby has Lightning, and Jack has Mater. They LOVE them. They are by far the favorite toys in this house.

Last week according to my iPhone...

Ok, this one was more like two weeks ago. But it was so much fun. Having a donut breakfast with buddy Asher at his house while the grownup's ustreamed Athey's Sunday morning service in Yakima. SO FUN!

Sweet sleeping boys. They were tuckered out after a play date at Jada's house.

Athey BBQ before Saturday night church at the church property.

Toby's second dentist appointment. Jack wanted in on the action. They have t.v's on the celiing and he watched Car's movie while getting his teeth cleaned. Great idea, right?

And lastly, buddy Jack repeating his bible verse of the night. I think he's pretty cute.
